All models, really. Last year I had the opportunity to work with a Swiss-German art organization that commissioned artists to create a piece of artwork that would reflect their favourite brand. Aston Martin was on that list but last minute, don’t ask me what happen, they decided not to be involved anymore. I couldn’t find any other brand that I appreciated as much so I’ve also pulled back. Nevermind, at least it was a great experience to re-draw my favourite cars. It’s beautiful, colourful and famous for its colonial architecture, waterfalls, agriculture, small industries and arts and crafts. This acrylic painting was made from one of the pictures I took last year, I tried to be as realistic as possible. I love the bright colours, textures, richness of the small details and characteristics of this town. It also means, in formal situations of authority and respect, “I live for you”. I like the idea of saying “I live for you” in a very romantic and formal way, that perhaps 200 years ago would have been normal between couples. It’s also the title of an Andrea Bocelli’s song.
